Worship With Us
Sunday morning worship services are held at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m., with Coffee Fellowship from 8:30 – 11 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.
Our 8 a.m. service is for those who enjoy beginning their day early. Similar to the traditional worship at 9:30, this service is typically 45 minutes with less liturgy. Worshippers are still able to enjoy the Sanctuary and our beautiful pipe organ. On occasion, this early service is held in the Chapel.
The 9:30 worship hour is intentionally focused on traditional liturgy. Sung and spoken responses, choir anthems, a time for children and the traditional message will be enhanced with occasional diversity in music, drama and video imaging. Lay liturgists offer worship leadership with clergy providing the message.
The 11 o'clock worship service is held in the intimate and beautiful setting of our second-floor Chapel. Designed to be less formal, the service includes a variety of music, hymns and spiritual liturgies. Often the day's message will be presented in a less formal and more conversational style. The room setup may change from Sunday to Sunday. The service typically lasts about 45 minutes. On occasion, this service may be held in the Sanctuary.
All three services strive to be inclusive in spirit, liturgy and the spoken word. The liturgy and congregational hymns/songs are projected on a large screen, although at the 8 and 9:30 hours our hymnbooks are available, as well. The images used on the screen are a visual expression of the morning theme.
Three or four times during the year, a special family worship will be developed and held at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall running simultaneously with the Sanctuary worship. This will be done in cooperation with the children’s Sunday School program. Watch for word of these special services.
Our lay members play a special role in our times of worship.
